Wine, Sand, and a Beautiful view. All I can say is that this place was absolutely magical, but let me start off with what you are all probably thinking, how did we end up here? It was late January and I was looking up vacation Sweepstakes. I had just given birth to my first baby and had so much time to myself while he slept. I also didn't have much money in savings being that I had just gotten married a year ago, and was living in a 1 bedroom apartment with one person bringing in the income. I had no luck when it came to winning anything, so my hopes were not high. After hours of searching I finally found one! It was a valentines day sweeps and all that it asked of you was to basically write a story as to why you deserved to take this trip with your significant other. It wasn’t hard for me to explain why I needed this, I never truly had a honeymoon since I got married in Bosnia in October, it was way to cold for a nice beach vacation. After weeks of patiently waiting and having lost any ounce of hope I had about winning, it finally happened! I received an email letting me know I had won 3rd place. I know what you’re thinking, 3rd place? Does this lady know you want to win first place? Well like I told you all earlier. I DONT WIN anything. So this was a huge accomplishment. The vacation was in March , which meant my baby boy would only be 2 months old, and being a new mother I didn’t want to leave him. Thankfully we have amazing grandparents that were more than happy to watch him for a week.
Fast forward to March. We arrived at the Richmond Airport, where we had a direct flight to Aruba. I had never been on a vacation to a Tropical place before, but this mom Bod was ready. We arrived and were greeted in the front entrance with some nice wine. I felt like I was some sort of famous Hollywood star being treated like royalty. I mean it's not every day that someone greets you with wine, right? We originally were supposed to get a queen bed ,garden view room. When we were checking in at the front desk the clerk advised us that we would be getting an Ocean front, Junior Suite,1 King, Corner room, Balcony . Not until I entered the room did a I realize how upgraded we really were. The Clerk had asked me if I was the owners daughter and I wondered why she was asking. Now I knew why, seeing the room and all. I mean, it was gorgeous. The pictures I posted don't do it justice, it was just so breath taking.
The all around balcony was my favorite part of the room. When we woke up it felt like we were outside somewhere with a beautiful beach view around us. The room was extremely clean and the bathroom was huge. Each day we came back to the room with cute little gifts on the bed. One day we received chocolates and the next we had wine and a variety of cheeses. The restaurants in the hotel were delicious and so romantic. There were also plenty of stores within walking distance if you decided you wanted to purchase some snacks instead. We also had a gorgeous on the sand buffet one night and yes it was a part of the vacation package.
Another one of our favorite things to do was go to the hotel pool that was open all night. It was lit up and had a Jacuzzi right next to it. There was also a built in bar that was perfect for some pool Juice(haha). We hated going to sleep because we felt like we were missing out and had so much more to do. The beach was amazingly clear and the water was perfectly warm. We collected starfish all day and brought them back with us, little to realize that they stunk badly after they dried up, not a very smart decision. I ended up so sun burnt that half of my face was swollen the last day of our vacation. Instead of visiting the casino that we had saved for the last night, we were in bed applying cold towels to our bodies and faces. So remember, the most important part of this post is, WEAR sun tan lotion and not tanning oil.
I am forever grateful for this vacation and the time I was able to spend with my husband. We love looking back at the pictures and thinking of all the memories we created. If you are pondering on where to take your next vacation,I would highly recommend the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino. It's perfect for couples and family vacations.
P.S. I had so many beautiful pictures of our time in Aruba but unfortunately my USB stick broke and now most are gone. The ones I had on my computer I have posted on here. Also these pictures are from 6 years ago, so the quality is not so good either. Click on their website and you'll see how gorgeous this place really is.Where do you guys think we should go this year? We are thinking one family vacation and one alone.
